Most trips to and from the University of Washington are done through transit, biking, walking, rideshare or another method besides driving alone. Reducing the campus drive-alone rate has positive environmental impacts such as reducing emissions, and also makes it easier to move around our community. The most recent campus commuter survey found more than 81% of all trips to campus were by methods other than driving alone. The UW Seattle campus has a goal of increasing that share to 88% by 2028.
All students and most faculty and staff at UW's Seattle campus are provided with a U-PASS regional transit pass. UW's Fleet Services is regularly recognized for its sustainability program, including a large percentage of alternative-fuel vehicles. UW Transportation Services has many resources for students, faculty and staff to find safe, accessible and sustainable transportation options.
